It's one of those days again! When the Sun just refuses to come out and it chooses to hide behind the thick clouds in the morning sky. It wasn't a very productive shoot that day, oh well, that's the best picture I can get out of the sunrise.

Taking a picture of a sunrise requires alot of preparation and patience. You have to settle down at a good spot which you think the Sun might come out. Then you have to give yourself ample time to set up your equipment and adjust your camera settings. If you fail to do the latter, you will find yourself shooting pictures of bright skies because the time for the Sun to rise from the horizon is much quicker than the time for the Sun to set.

The golden moment comes when the colour of the sky changes, displaying a very nice hue and tone. Perfect for good shots. But this moment lasts for only a few minutes.

So who says photography does not need hard work? =)

this photo looks a little surreal.. the water surface looks like it's glowing. Nice!!

YOZ!!! Wah suddenly so on go changi early in the morning for sunrise? Bo jio loh...

Anyway, your HDR kindof unnatural. Was that intentional?

Just a suggestion: If your sky is not beautiful enough to be a subject on its own, include something interesting in the foreground.

And watch your horizon too. It looks slanted.

haha..it was a last minute thing..I went to changi and then after that I straight away went to church!!

sorry nv call u la.. this picture was taken quite long ago anyway.

haha..thanks for the critque.. I know I have a bad habit of slanting my picture.. it looked fine thrpugh my view finder actually..

my HDR was merged using 2 pictures only.. haha.. taken using long exposure @ f22. tt's why u can see the boats have a ghosting effect..

it was intentional actually...because the sky itself is not very surreal tt time..i up the blues and tried to bring out the sunlight through photoshop.

I took it with alot of rocks in the foreground actually.. but they appeared even more fake when doing HDR... because the rocks turned out brighter than the sky!
