My First Shot at Marco photography using my D80! Wow! Its a real challenge to take small objects without the help of marco functions or macro lens! This picture was taken using my D80 with 80-200mm lens at full focal length and at full aperture. Well, I must say that it's really hard to get my subject in focus, and most of my shots were out of focus because of the subject being too small. The lens kept shifting focus when I set to AF-C mode (Continuous Auto Focusing). I wonder if I should have taken the shot at an aperture of f/3.5 or above? Any advice?

Well, this was my best take anyway! I could have used a little help by training up a little bit more so that I can hold my lens more firmly without much shake..hmmm.

Everyone's talking about the F1 grand Prix that's going to kick start this week in September! Oh the road closures and all that preparation really makes me wonder if its worth all the effort to organize such a big event in such a small and urbanized country? All that fuel and resources used up for the entire event can really be put into better use you know?

Sometimes life just loves to throw lots of things at you. We find ourselves getting so caught up with our busy lives. So busy trying to fulfill our duties, trying to reach for our goals. We try, to be the best child for our parents, a good student in school, a productive employee at work, a good friend in our relationships.

We find ourselves so busy that we sometimes complain, "I don't have enough time" , "24 hours in a day is not enough"

"I wish I had more time"

We get so caught up until we sometimes accidentally drown ourselves with so much activities to do. Suddenly it seems harder to breathe. We find ourselves gasping for air trying to keep our lives on track.

So maybe it's good to have some time off alone. To review this half a year that has gone past. Take time to prioritise our lives once again and get back on track..

Got a little bored and I decided to explore the heartlands of Tiong Bahru. I realised everyone around me were so busy rushing back home from work that they forgot to stop their tracks to enjoy one of the most beautiful things that mother nature has always been displaying everyday.

The entire of Tiong Bahru central becomes golden brown when the evening sun begins to set in the horizon. The entire atmosphere begins to quiet down, marking an end to another busy day at work.

This picture was taken 20-storeys up on an HDB flat, and I really envy the residents living on that very flat! They can get to see the sunset everyday!

Cats, graceful, cute and lazy. Cats love to take their cat naps out in the open. Despite the noise around it, the cat chose a spot outside a shop in Haji Lane for its routine cat nap. The commotion around her does not seem to bother her beauty sleep.

This uncle chooses to keep traditions alive by setting up a make shift store at the common streets of China Town. Every shoe that comes to him deserves his utmost attention.

It's one of those days again! When the Sun just refuses to come out and it chooses to hide behind the thick clouds in the morning sky. It wasn't a very productive shoot that day, oh well, that's the best picture I can get out of the sunrise.

Taking a picture of a sunrise requires alot of preparation and patience. You have to settle down at a good spot which you think the Sun might come out. Then you have to give yourself ample time to set up your equipment and adjust your camera settings. If you fail to do the latter, you will find yourself shooting pictures of bright skies because the time for the Sun to rise from the horizon is much quicker than the time for the Sun to set.

The golden moment comes when the colour of the sky changes, displaying a very nice hue and tone. Perfect for good shots. But this moment lasts for only a few minutes.

So who says photography does not need hard work? =)

Although it might be well liked by passerbys and the bus drivers at the bus interchange, this cat does not like to be disturbed when it is taking its daily morning nap, basking in the sun along the walkways of Choa Chu Kang.

Indeed as fierce as it looks, it bit me 3 times before it showed its resentment.

I'm so new to the world of the DSLR photography and there's just so many things to learn. So many secrets to unlock and so many discoveries to find out. If you think unlocking the full potential of any DSLR camera is a headache, taking a perfect picture with it requires another level of understanding.

That's what makes photography such a beautiful hobby, using a man-made device to capture the beauty and essence of Mother Nature's wonderful creations. Portraying strong emotions to people and leaving unforgettable memories in people's minds.
